New York is preparing for Trump's day... Fear of violence
Former US President Donald Trump arrived in New York City today to appear in court for criminal charges against him.
Trump's private plane landed at La Guardia Airport in New York, before he was transferred under heavy security to his tower, where he will sleep tonight there, and the next morning he will be transferred to the courtroom to hear his testimony in the case of paying money to porn model Stormy Daniels.
According to US media, hundreds of his supporters gathered in front of his residence in the tower, and the authorities feared a riot.
Trump will appear before Judge Juan at 2:30 p.m. New York time and will be charged.
Trump is the first US president to be tried in criminal cases.
The NYPD added, "We will not tolerate violence or vandalism of any kind. Anyone who engages in an act of violence will be arrested, no matter who they are." Police said they are aware of the unique nature of the event.
"Under the circumstances, I'm not worried. The New York Police Department will handle any scenario well," said Mayor Eric Adams.
A jury in New York voted to charge Trump with the amount he paid to the star during the 2016 election campaign. It is not known whether Trump will be arrested when he turns himself in, although his goal is for this to actually happen in order to obtain an image that will serve him in front of his supporters.
